Where is SINGAPORE

Singapore is probably the most developed country in South East Asia. With its small size (I think it is just as big as NCR), this country definitely has gone a long way from being a fisherman's island. Albeit that Singaporeans are not the friendliest people that I have met, I think they are starting to come around and beginning to value tourism more.

Singapore

The best way to travel around the city is through it's efficient railway system. The Changi international airport has its own designated stop. Most of the Landmark areas are accessible via their SMRT (http://www.smrt.com.sg/trains/trains.asp)

SMRT

Singapore is every geek's heaven... You may be able to spend the whole day at Sim Lim (http://www.simlimsquare.com.sg/) exploring the latest digital camera or game console that they are selling for a fraction of the price. But BEWAAAAARE some of the sellers are not the most honest people that you may encounter.I actually was almost duped by these idiots could I have been more of a passive type of person (too bad they have to deal with an A-type know it all). What they do is they initially lure you inside the store by giving you an insanely low price for an item that you will ask. Then they will offer you alternatives that are relatively higher that the market price. If you resist to buy the alternatives, they will then not include ALL the accessories that comes in the package and sell it to you at a much higher price. Best way is to just leave the store and tell them you don't have enough money and will just come back again later (when they hear you don't have money, they will leave you alone :D)

One of the must do in Singapore is walk through Orchard Road and feast your eyes with all the great shops and stores that they have side by side. This is also where the good night life is when it starts to get dark. But be warned: drinks come at a hefty price (well almost everything in Singapore is expensive)

Orchard

Lost, need help or want to know something? There are several visitor's centers in the city that may help you with what you might want to know. They are very polite and really helpful!

Sentosa is a resort accessible via harbourfront where in you may be able to swim in the beach, enjoy great cuisine or simply ride a cable car and see singapore in greater heights. Don't miss the TREASURE BISTRO restaurant where they offer Buffet Lunch at a very affordable price (Best meal i had in Singapore)

If buying and saving for a laptop and getting a good taste of city vacation is what you want, Singapore is indeed the place you want to consider visiting...

Saizen gets 10/5 stars for always giving me that need-to-buy feeling which I only get at shops that sell sweets/electronics/books. It has lots of good items as well as silly stuff (that you buy but can't explain why).
